Second thoughts

For the first time in my life, I’m having second thoughts about living in Pakistan. I’ve always argued that there’s no shortage of opportunities or resources in Pakistan and that if someone wanted to work here, it can be done. I still stand by the first opinion but I’m not so sure about getting things done. The problem is mostly the people here. They’re not only ignorant and non-professional, they’re also selfish — this is what annoys me the most. Many people tell me that it’s because of the poverty but I don’t buy that. Most of the people I know are not poor. They’re pretty well-off. They drive expensive cars, they have big homes, they’ve never gone unfed. They still act like there’s a famine coming and if they don’t collect all the money/stuff, they’re going to die of hunger.

It doesn’t stop there either. We’re all so rigid that we’re not willing to let go of things that we don’t even need. Try standing in a line and see how much space you get. Everyone will be trying to push you, for reasons known only to them. Of course, I’m not counting those who cut lines to get things done quickly because they’re so busy.

I’m not good at writing this stuff so this post probably doesn’t convey the extent of my frustration. I’m not up to the point of trying to find a job abroad but I’m getting there. I still like it here — I’m just not sure how much more I can stand.

  1. Abroad will come here. The ones who survive here rule the rest of the assholes. Just find the right lot and work in unity to strengthen those who think like you and you will one day rule the world by constructing a strong system driven with great vision. There are many who think like you and you just have to lead them if you have more courage or back someone else to that position who might be more suitable. If one understands himself then these decisions can be easily made, even without considering second opinion. Do you know why we take opinions? Its because we do not trust the devil inside us 🙂 We are not sure of our weaknesses and strengths and how to interact with the external environment. Bla bla bla …. The most interesting part is when we make others agree to our wrong point of views 😉

You have to let the assholes depend on you so you stay in strong position till they run away from their dirty games when they are exposed! In the end only those rule who stay by strong values. So take your time and have fun.

We have very little waiting left!

  2. Wow man, I read your thoughts and I can say that I have the same problem on Balkan! Just like you said, I like it here and I’m also not sure how much more I can stand. I have master degree in Computer Science and new born capitalist treat people with collage like dirt, nobody respect if you are educated because they can hire young programmers without degree, they will cost less money and state is not doing anything to protect educated people. And talking about state, corruption is on the level that can’t be spoken! If you want a job in state companies you need to have “person inside” to get a job, people who are less educated get a job over people who are more educated if they have that “person inside”, so now even I have master degree I can’t find a job!
